The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office executed a drug search warrant on Thursday, January 5th, at B & W Trailer park on County Road 1021 in Clanton. Narcotics Investigators confiscated pseudoephedrine, a precursor chemical used in the manufacturing process of methamphetamine, multiple items of drug paraphernalia used for ingesting methamphetamine, an amount of methamphetamine, or finished product and several packages of incense, or known as “legal weed”. The execution of the warrant was the result of a citizen complaint. The complainant was concerned that the residence was the host of multiple clandestine laboratories for the production of methamphetamine. Arrested at the scene were Michael Lee Bingham, 44, of Clanton for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Precursor Chemicals, George Bryan Pierson Jr., 31, of Clanton for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bingham is currently being held in the Chilton County Jail on $20,000.00 bond. Pierson is currently being held in the Chilton County Jail on $10,750.00 bond. Both subjects were on State Probation for drug related charges at the time of their arrest.

The production of methamphetamine using the precursor pseudoephedrine, also known as “Shake and Bake” continues to be an ongoing drug epidemic in Chilton County. The waste products as result of the manufacturing process are hazardous and can be harmful to the public and the environment. Citizens of the county are encouraged to be observant of their surroundings and report any suspected drug activity to the Chilton County Sheriff’s Office.
